Anonymous yield benchmarking
See how your yields compare with farms on similar land, without anyone knowing whose is whose.
Available on request. It sits on top of the grain records you already keep. Get in touch if you would like access for your farm.
The problem
You know what you grew. You do not really know whether it was good. The figures that circulate at market are the ones people are pleased with, national averages are too broad to mean much on your soil type, and nobody volunteers a bad year.
The comparison that would be useful — same crop, same variety, similar land, similar rainfall — is exactly the one that is hardest to get honestly.
How it works
What it covers once you have access. Tell us if anything does not fit how you work and we will adjust it.
- Once enough farms are recording loads, show your yield for a crop and variety against the spread of everyone else's, as a distribution rather than a league table.
- Filter to something comparable: soil type, region, rainfall, drilling date.
- Strictly anonymous and aggregate. No farm is ever identifiable, no individual figures are ever shown to anyone else, and taking part is opt-in.
- Useful at variety level — whether the variety you are being sold is actually beating the one you dropped.
