Store monitoring

Moisture and temperature per shed, with a warning before a hot spot becomes a claim.

Available on request. It sits on top of the grain records you already keep. Get in touch if you would like access for your farm.

The problem

Grain in store is the most valuable thing on the farm and the easiest to quietly ruin. A wet patch in the middle of a heap does not announce itself, and by the time you can smell it the load is worth a lot less.

Most farms manage this with a spear, a notebook and a memory of which corner went off last year. The record of what the moisture was at intake, and what it has done since, rarely survives the season.

How it works

What it covers once you have access. Tell us if anything does not fit how you work and we will adjust it.

  • Record moisture at intake as part of weighing the load in, so each shed carries an average moisture as well as a tonnage.
  • Log spear readings by position in the heap, with a simple map of where you took them.
  • Flag a shed when readings are drifting up rather than down, or when a position is warmer than the rest of the heap.
  • Keep a drying record — hours on, fan settings, moisture before and after — so you can see what a point of moisture actually costs you in electricity.

Request access for your farm

Get in touch and we will sort access for your account. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Whether you would type readings in by hand, or whether this only makes sense if it reads from probes you already have — and if so, whose.

We will only email you about this. No newsletter.
