Grain marketing & contracts

Track what you have sold forward against what you have actually got in the shed.

Available on request. It sits on top of the grain records you already keep. Get in touch if you would like access for your farm.

The problem

Selling forward is a guess until the crop is in. You have committed 400 tonnes of feed wheat for November movement, the shed says something close to that, and the difference between the two is either a problem or a bonus — but you find out late.

Meanwhile the record of what was sold at what price tends to live in a series of emails from the merchant, a diary, and your head. Working out the average price achieved across the season is an evening's job with a calculator.

How it works

What it covers once you have access. Tell us if anything does not fit how you work and we will adjust it.

  • Enter each contract as you agree it: buyer, crop and spec, tonnes, price, movement window.
  • Harvestt already knows what is in each shed, so it shows committed tonnes against uncommitted tonnes per crop — the free-to-sell figure, kept current as loads come in.
  • When grain leaves the shed you tag the movement to a contract, so the contract fills up and you can see what is still owed.
  • A season summary: tonnes sold, average price achieved, what is left unsold, and how that compares with the market at the time.

Request access for your farm

Get in touch and we will sort access for your account. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

How you record contracts today, and whether price and buyer information is something you would be comfortable keeping in Harvestt.

We will only email you about this. No newsletter.
