Machinery, fuel & job costing

Hours, fuel and repairs by machine, turned into a cost per hectare.

Available on request. It sits on top of the grain records you already keep. Get in touch if you would like access for your farm.

The problem

The combine's running cost is a large number that mostly gets discovered at the end of the year through the accounts. Fuel goes in the bowser book, repairs go in a folder, and hours go on the hour meter — three places, none of which talk to each other.

The decision this affects is whether a job is cheaper done yourself or given to a contractor, and that is very hard to answer without knowing what your own machine costs per hour.

How it works

What it covers once you have access. Tell us if anything does not fit how you work and we will adjust it.

  • A record per machine: hours, fuel drawn, servicing and repairs.
  • Log jobs against fields, so cultivation and drilling cost can be attributed where it was spent.
  • A cost per hour and cost per hectare per machine, so contractor quotes have something to be compared against.
  • Service intervals that tell you what is due before it fails in the middle of harvest.

Request access for your farm

Get in touch and we will sort access for your account. It costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Whether fuel and hours are something you would log as you go, or only ever reconcile monthly from delivery notes.

We will only email you about this. No newsletter.
